additive-synthesis-based spectral freeze Max for Live device

Analyzes the spectral content of the incoming live audio signal when the "freeze" button is pressed, finds the loudest partials and resynthesises the sound using a bank of sinusoids or resonant filters, resulting in an infinitely sustained sound.

The frozen sound can also be gradually interpolated / morphed towards the next captured spectrum, over the specified glide time.

Any number of frozen spectra can be stored and recalled.

An example of Addifreeze in action (freezing sound of clean electric guitar) can be heard on the track Stalactite on Aurora Hentunen's album Frost.
